Salt Water Beaches

Barrett Park: Lobster Cove Road, Boothbay Harbor.

Directions:
  • Follow Route 27 through stop light, stay to the right of the First National Bank of Damariscotta
  • Take first left (Union Street), straight through flashing light, take sharp right curve onto Atlantic Avenue, follow until coming to Catholic Church on left
  • Take left onto Lobster Cove Road
  • Look for signs on the right, parking is on the left

Grimes Cove: Ocean PointEast Boothbay. Small pebble beach and boat launch at the tip of Ocean Point in East Boothbay

Directions:            
  • At the lights at Hannaford bear left, and follow Route 96 to the end
  • Parking lot is on the left, and also on the road.

Knickercane Park: Barter’s Island RoadBoothbay Harbor  Small park located on Barter’s island Road in Boothbay. Picnic tables, grills for cooking and a restroom

Directions:
  • North on Route 27
  • Turn left at the Monument in Boothbay Common, follow the Barter’s Island Road first right for about 1 ½ miles
  • The park is on the left

Pemaquid Beach State Park: Snowball Hill Road, Bristol Beautiful small sandy beach with swimming, beachcombing and great views ** state parks charge a fee to enter**

Directions:            
  • Follow Route 27 North
  • East onto Route One to Newcastle, cross the river to Damariscotta
  • Take Route 130 to New Harbor, watch for signs on the right

Popham Beach State Park: Perkins Farm Lane, Phippsburg Great long sandy beach perfect for swimming, beachcombing  ** state parks charge a fee to enter**

Directions:
  • Follow Route 27 South to Route One
  • Follow Route One to Route 209 in Bath
  • Turn left and follow Route 209 to Popham Beach                              

Reid State Park: Sequin Island Road, Georgetown. Nice long sandy beach, with a nice protected swimming area perfect for small children   ** state parks charge a fee to enter**

Directions:
  • Take Route 27 North to Route One
  • Follow Route 1 South to Georgtown, Route 127 South
  • Watch for signs

Fresh Water Beaches

Knickerbocker Lake: Barter’s Island Road, Boothbay     Small public dock for swimming, parking is limited1485424.jpg

  • North on Route 27
  • Turn left at the Monument in Boothbay Common, follow the Barter’s Island Road first right
  • The park is on the right
Damariscotta Lake State Park: State Park RoadJefferson The Lake offers a small sandy beach with restrooms ** state parks charge a fee to enter**          

Directions:
  • Follow Route 27 North, East onto Route 1
  • Follow Route 1 East to Waldoboro
  • Take Route 32 North to Jefferson
  • Park is on the left hand side, watch for signs
