Committees & Volunteers

The chamber has a number of committees and encourages members to get involved! The Board of Directors, committees and the staff make these events possible each year.  As a member you are invited to volunteer your talents to make these events successful each year. We appreciate concierge and office volunteers.

Marketing Committee: Purpose: To build a marketing strategy and plan for the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Region that will promote a balance between business growth, quality of life, and tourism promotion.

Membership: Purpose: To actively recruit new members, to encourage member participation in committees and activities. To determine if membership needs are being met and to recommend measures or services that will better meet the changing needs of members.

Events Committee: Purpose: To provide support for staff in the planning and implementation of Chamber-sponsored special events; to assist in coordinating volunteers for special events; to assist staff in identifying opportunities for creating or attracting special events.

Government Affairs Committee: Purpose: To monitor developments in State and Local government that affect our members; to provide a communication channel between Chamber members and members of state and local governments; to assist the Chamber in crafting surveys for the membership, the results of which will provide the foundation for Chamber positions.

Finance Committee: Purpose: To oversee and assist the management of Chamber financial activities.

Strategic Planning Committee: Purpose: To look at Chamber goals and direction over the next 5 years. Shapes what the organization is, what it does, and why it does it with the focus on the future.
